Lazy

Hopefully this doesn't offend anyone, it's not my intention this time. But, do you think that if someone who was depressed did the things they didn't feel like doing, they wouldn't be as depressed anymore? I know that depression is just more than feeling blue all the time, and I'm all about seeking prefessional help when you need it, and have no qualms about those who need to take medication to eleviate their depression. So by all means, I am not trying to be all, "the cure is out there, you just don't want it to work." Because I'm not.

The reason I was thinking about this is, because there are days when I don't feel like getting out of bed right away, and I just don't feel like cleaning the house or running errands. But I'm not depressed. I'm just lazy. And the cure for laziness, for me, is to do the things I don't feel like doing. Because I actually enjoy being awake, I don't mind cleaning the house, and it can be fun to run errands. But I always forget about those things when I don't feel like doing them. The ironic thing, is that I don't really care for laziness. I feel more accomplished when I've accomplished something.

I should read this the next time I'm feeling unmotivated.

One of the First

We got our new camera in the mail. I had to go to work, and the weather was crappy, and the battery needed to charge. So we didn't get to take a walk and take pictures of cool things. That's ok, though, because blogger wouldn't've let me upload them anyway, apparently.

About 13 Things.

So I haven't read as much as last month (but I still am reading, worry not), but I have been completing some other things on my list. For example:

7. Buy a Digital SLR Camera
8. Give all the clothes you don’t wear anymore to Salvation Army
11. Save a little bit of money each week
19. Get promoted
28. Shave a little bit of your legs with every shower
29. Dress up for church
33. Get an I-pod
34. Get more dress clothes

I have many thoughts on this. But I am very tired. Too tired to be witty or profound. So I'll just leave it at that.

Mudslinging

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I don't like mudslinging. Specifically, I don't like political mudslinging. I don't like it when candidates mudsling, and I don't like it when a candidate's supporters mudsling for the candidate. I tend to lose all respect for all people involved.

I would much rather support someone who told me their good qualities, and why they think they are the best person for the job. I have much respect for people who wholeheartedly follow someone and promote that person, rather than bringing everyone else down.

Always A Favorite

Currently in my stomach.

Fear.

On one hand, I'm afraid I will absolutely love it. On the other, I fear I will be in over my head. I don't know which one scares me more.

The Heartbreak Kid

There are a few laughs in this movie, but not enough to make up for the fact that none of the characters are even remotely likeable. This movie lacked the "heart" that you can normally find in a Farrelly Brothers' movie. There are better things you can do with your time.

Book Report #4 - Tramp For The Lord, by Corrie ten Boom

This is the sequal to the book The Hiding Place, also by Corrie ten Boom. It picks up right around where the other book left off (conveniently), but is written in a different style.

Tramp For The Lord has 35 chapters, all of them are short vignettes about Corrie ten Boom's life and ministry after being a prisoner in a concentration camp.

I think it's amazing that she was in her 80's and still traveling the world, sharing her story, preaching the Gospel, living out of a suitcase, and trusting God to provide wherever she went (including trusting God to provide a place to go!). Henceforth her self proclaimed title, "Tramp for the Lord." Tramp being someone who has no home and travels from place to place. A non-derogatory term.

I liked this book a lot. I liked The Hiding Place better, but I think this is a good sequel, and also a good book to read devotionally, being the chapters can be read separately from each other. It's definitely an encouraging read, and a quick read, if you want it to be.

I would like to point out that this may be my longest book report of '08.
